Virtual or In Person Meetings
The HRC began having virtual monthly meetings during Covid, prior to that the Commission met in person at a designated location, typically the HRC office.
In order to facilitate more interactive discussions, and an opportunity for all Commissioners to get to know each other better, we have now moved to an alternating monthly schedule of virtual and in-person meetings.
Regular required Commissioner participation in HRC meetings has become problematic and in two cases the in person meetings were cancelled due to a lack of the required quorum for conducting Commission business.
NOTE: The Guide for Internal Operations requires that any Commissioner who fails to attend two consecutive regularly scheduled meetings, without prior excuse shall receive notification by the Executive Director. Any Commissioner who fails to attend three consecutive regularly scheduled monthly meeting will be notified of non-attendance by the Chair. Failure to attend nine regularly scheduled meeting during a calendar year will be grounds for a recommendation to the appointing authority that the Commissioner be removed for cause.
Excusable absences are for sickness or necessity, must the communicated to the Chair or Commission Clerk (Senior Office Manager) prior to 5:00 p.m. the day of the meeting.
